FRONT DESK ASSOCIATE


The position performs all related clerical functions according to current practices, routine and established procedures. Coordinate front desk operations and patient intake for high-volume clinic serving a diverse patient population. Provide assistance and referrals to patients as a part of a multi-disciplinary, medical team.

This is a Part-Time position. The hours for this position are Wednesdays and Thursdays 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm, and Fridays 9:00 am to 12:00 pm (noon).

Essential Functions

Promote accuracy and efficiency in front desk procedures and paperwork.
Assist with daily processing of incoming patient records and records requests.
Assist patients, physicians, and staff with insurance issues.
Participate in the development and improvement of clinic and front desk procedures.
Organize and coordinate ordering of front desk supplies and forms.
Maintain an environment conducive to patient comfort and confidentiality.
Answer phone calls and assist with patient scheduling.
Assist patients with clinic and billing paperwork.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

Educational and/or Professional

High school diploma
Strong customer service focus
Medical terminology
Organized and able to manage competing priorities
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Must be able to prioritize assignments, follow up to ensure task completions, and manage multiple projects.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and changing job assignments within the department.
Able to take and follow through with delegated tasks and accountability

Other Special Training/Skills

Must be extremely well organized and demonstrate exceptional time management skills.
Able to work both independently and as a member of a team.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
