The position involves clerical duties, order entry, stocking, organizing, and customer communication.
Qualifications:
High School Graduate Previous experience in secretarial/receptionist role (preferred) BLS Computer skills with Word, Excel Telephone etiquette Positive interpersonal communication skills Responsibilities Fax Check for toner/cartridge needs Fill paper Copy Machine Reports any problems to IS Ensures unit has paper supply Phone and call bell system:
Professional Greeting Answers promptly Transfers phone calls to other departments and patient rooms Put calls on hold.
If call is for staff person, notify the appropriate person Communicates patient requests via call bell system to appropriate caregiver Supplies:
Maintains adequate level of office supplies Files/Nursing forms Maintains PAR levels Copies are neat and clean Charts/Orders.
Enters appropriate orders into computer system Check medication orders to MAR Puts charts together for admissions, breaks down charts of discharges for medical records Organization Keep desk area clean Charts in Rack Wipe counters as needed Patient Admission/Discharge Place patient in Log Book, arrival time, diagnosis, and patient classification-Inpatient/Obs Discharge patient, date, and time Inventory- Assist Materials Management, as needed Performs other tasks as delegated by director or charge nurse.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
